when I was young(er) I lacked confidence.
I was reserved and thought too much and liked watching discovery health while playing pokemon which is all fine and dandy as a 19 year old but when you’re 11-13 years old and society expects you to be start becoming womanly and be interested in mtv and what shade of lipgloss to wear.
anyway it was also at this age when i started to think about being a photographer. i remember sharing this with a “friend” of mine. she then proceeded to take up photography. in retrospect i think she was trying to top me, sending me pictures over AIM showing her raw natural talent almost every day. i rarely showed mine in return, mostly because i knew there was a lot i needed to learn.
thinking back on this, i am really proud of the fact that i’m the one still following my dream and improving
